There are many factors that can cause the movement behind fantasy football’s biggest risers and fallers.

Injuries and recent signings are both factors. Some weeks we have suspensions and some weeks we have players and management having public disagreements over health. Some of these big swings in perceived value are overreactions and some are valid. Our goal is to help you reach the right decision as to what is causing these changes and help you take advantage of them. These are the biggest movers in the last week.

As always this will not list defenses or kickers because well, they are defenses and kickers. This also does not reflect the obvious ones like a quarterback who gets hurt after four plays and will miss the rest of the season.

Risers

Zach Evans - RB - Rams

Do you need a running back to get you through the bye? Can I offer you the Week 7 starting running back for the Rams? Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) both picked up injuries in Week 6. Royce Freeman will also be activated, turning this into a real mess.

Kareem Hunt - RB -Browns

This was his first game getting some decent fantasy points. Jerome Ford will still be the number one option out of the backfield but with Watson having a shoulder issue the Browns may want to run more. This could be the start of the Ford/Hunt split we were expecting.

Jonnu Smith - TE - Falcons

Smith now has more receptions and more receiving yards than Kyle Pitts. That doesn’t mean you should drop Pitts. In the last two games, Pitts has 16 and 14 fantasy points.

Craig Reynolds - RB - Lions

This is a reaction to David Montgomery leaving the field with a rib injury. It looks like Jahmyr Gibbs may be back for Week 7 so Reynolds at this point is just insurance.

Michael Mayer - TE - Raiders

If you are weak at tight end, and who isn’t, you may want to jump on the bandwagon if he is still available in your league. In the last two weeks, we have seen Austin Hooper have 2 targets each and haul in 11 and 19 yards. Mayer has seen 3 and 6 targets with 39 and 75 yards receiving.

Fallers

Keaton Mitchell - RB - Ravens

Mitchell was activated with JK Dobbins going down. He didn’t have any carries. As long as Gus Edwards and Justice Hill are splitting carries, there is no room for Mitchel on any fantasy roster.

D’Onta Foreman - RB - Bears

This makes no sense. It appears he may have the backfield to himself again this weekend. At worse case he will split carries with Roschon Johnson if he comes back from his concussion. It also looks like Justin Fields may be out for a week with a thumb issue, and that should free up even more rushing yards.

Dalvin Cook - RB - Jets

Unless Breece Hall gets hurt there is no value here.

Rico Dowdle - RB - Cowboys

Dowdle only has value as Tony Pollard’s handcuff. With Week 7 as the Cowboys’ bye week, he is probably being dropped for a bye-week replacement.

feed

Salvon Ahmed - RB - Dolphins

It looks like Jeff Wilson will be ready to go this weekend. If that is the case then Ahmed may not get enough touches to be rostered. If the Dolphins don’t activate Wilson, Ahmed still has value for one more week.
